The unpretentious comfort and lightness inherent in loofah bring a touch of quiet warmth to everyday life. Whilst loofah has long been used in Japan as a natural scrubbing pad (sponge), the widespread adoption of synthetic sponges made from materials such as polyurethane has led to a steady decline in loofah farming year on year.

Through the design of interior items using loofah, we aim to reinterpret the value of regional crops and present a lifestyle where people and nature are gently connected.

The material used is loofah sourced from Toyama Prefecture. Nurtured by abundant water and cultivated for over 40 years without the use of pesticides or bleaching agents, this loofah is characterised by its exceptionally soft texture. We have encapsulated the essence of a serene Japanese landscape—where crops grow healthily and time flows gently—within these interior lighting pieces.

Their light texture and minimalist, primitive form lend an elegant presence, making them ideal for use on a bedside table or in the living room.They offer a warm sense of companionship in those precious spaces where one can truly find peace of mind.
